Our breeding program

The main emphasis of our Einkorn and Emmer breeding program is to improve susceptibility against lodging. Furthermore, we try to improve yellow rust resistance in Emmer and a rapid youth development of Einkorn. We therefore perform each year about 20 crosses for Einkorn and Emmer. In a classical pedigree scheme, we select in multiple years for improved traits and perform field testing across whole Germany under conventional and organic farming. Only the best breeding lines will be offered to breeders, which put them into the market. Interested breeders should contact Dr. Longin. Our recent varieties in Emmer are Roter Heidfelder and Späth's Albjuwel and in Einkorn Monoverde, Monomax, LDPhi, LD Balle and Aurifex SZS. We stick to classical breeding methods without GMO technology.
